Entering the palace guests where immediately impressed with the grand and spacious vestibule. The ceiling and cornice are richly ornamented with grisaille paintings and four maidens holding bronze candelabras set in niches. These rather severe sculptures are the work of the famous Russian neo-classical sculptor, Pimenov.
The simple and elegant dark mahogany Russian Empire style furniture was designed by Rossi, specifically for this room. Most of the palace furniture was lost after the Bolshevik take over when the palace was converted into a worker's club.
